 How to Set or Change Your PIN on your Handheld Device

This guide explains how to create, change, or remove the screen lock PIN on a Zebra TC22 or TC37 running Android. A screen lock PIN helps protect the device and company data from unauthorized access.

Setting Up a PIN for the First Time
  1. Open Settings.
  2. Select Security (or Security & Privacy, depending on the Android version).
  3. Tap Screen Lock.
  4. Select PIN.
  5. Enter a new PIN (a minimum of 4 digits is required; 6 digits or more is recommended for better security).
  6. Tap Next.
  7. Re-enter the PIN to confirm.
  8. Tap Confirm.
  9. Choose your preferred lock screen notification settings if prompted.
  10. Tap Done.

Changing an Existing PIN
  1. Open Settings.
  2. Navigate to Security > Screen Lock.
  3. Enter your current PIN when prompted.
  4. Select PIN.
  5. Enter your new PIN.
  6. Tap Next.
  7. Re-enter the new PIN to confirm.
  8. Tap Confirm.

Changing from a PIN to a Pattern or Password
  1. Open Settings.
  2. Go to Security > Screen Lock.
  3. Enter your current PIN.
  4. Select either:
    • Pattern
    • Password
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete setup.

Removing the Screen Lock

Note: Removing the screen lock will leave the device unsecured.

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Navigate to Security > Screen Lock.
  3. Enter your current PIN.
  4. Select None.
  5. Confirm the change.
