DualPass: Removing a Stuck Card
The reader can accommodate cards with reasonable amounts of warp and curl, up to 3mm. The unit’s design will not allow a severely warped card to drop into the unit. However, if a card is forced into the unit it may become jammed and the unit’s internal mechanism may be incapable of ejecting it. In this case the unit will require a mechanical assist to push the card back up and out.
To remove a jammed card:
-
Remove the stylus from its storage pocket in the top shell of the reader.
-
Flip the unit over.
-
Insert the stylus into the slot in the bottom of the reader, at the end of the slot closest to the rear of the reader. Push the stylus gently into the reader to dislodge the card.
Note: If the unit is installed in a cradle it is not necessary to remove it. The access slot is still accessible.
