How to create and edit a Flag
The Flags section lists all the patrons you have ever flagged from your venue. Each one will show the name, flag length, flag type, the severity of the incident, and the incident details your staff had reported. If a flagged patron gets scanned at your venue, a flagged patron alert will be shown to the operator, and an SMS text will be sent out to the venue manager.
By default, only the active flags are shown. You can see the expired flags by pressing the Expired toggle at the top of the page. You can also easily find a specific flagged patron by using the search bar on the top left hand corner of the page.
If you wish to edit or remove an existing flag, simply press the Edit or Remove button located in the listing.
Adding a flag
- Press on the Add flag button at the top right corner of the page, then find the patron you want to flag.
- Select the patron to bring up the details. Press the Create flag button to start a flag.
- Enter in the flag details into the form.
- Area – A Public flag will flag the patron from every venue using PatronScan. A Private flag will only flag the patron from your venue.
NOTE: If you run multiple venues using PatronScan, the private flag you put on the patron will only be applied to the venue the patron was in. To have the patron flagged from all your venues, please contact Customer Support. - Describe Incident – It is highly recommended that your staff record a detailed report of the incident that led to the patron's flag. If the patron decides to file a dispute, challenging the flag, you will have proper reference to justify the flag.
- Type – Most incidents can be organized into a general category, ranging from assault to theft. Select the most suitable one for easier referencing in the future.
- Incident Date – the date of the incident that occurred. Defaults to the current date.
- Flag Length – default is 1 month. If you choose Long-term, the system will automatically assign a one-year public flag and a long-term private flag.
If there were multiple patrons involved in the incident, and you wish to flag them all, simply press the Add another patron button and find the next patron to add to the flag. Repeat as necessary.
