How to Flag a Patron Without a Prior Scan
In some cases, you may need to flag a patron who was not scanned into your venue. This can be done using the manual entry feature on your device.
When to Use This
Use manual entry when:
- A patron was not scanned on entry
- You need to document an incident after the fact
- You want to ensure the patron is flagged for future visits
Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Open Manual Entry
On PS Mobile or Guard+:
- Navigate to the scanning screen
- Select Manual Entry
2. Enter Patron Information
Carefully input the patron’s details:
- First Name
- Last Name
- Date of Birth
⚠️ Important:
This information must be entered exactly as it appears on the ID.
This is the only way the system can correctly match and flag the individual if they scan into your venue in the future.
3. Save the Manual Entry
- Submit the manual scan
- Confirm it appears in your scan history
4. Add the Flag
- Go to Scan History
- Locate the manual entry
- Add a flag as you normally would
Important Notes
- Accuracy is critical — incorrect information may prevent future matches
- Always use full legal name and correct date of birth
- Do not guess or approximate patron details
- Flags created this way will appear when the patron is scanned in the future (if information matches)
Summary
Manual entry allows you to flag patrons even if they were not scanned at entry. Ensuring the information is entered exactly as shown on the ID is key to making the flag effective.
