How to Replace the USB Hub and Extender
If your USB hub or extender needs to be replaced, follow these steps to safely remove the old unit and install the new one.
Tools Required

#2 Phillips screwdriver
1. Remove the back panel

Locate the screws on both the left and right sides of the unit.

Use the #2 Phillips screwdriver to remove the screws.

Carefully lift off the back panel to gain access to the USB hub.
2. Remove the old hub

Disconnect all accessories and cables from the existing USB hub.

Gently remove the hub from its position inside the unit.
3. Install the new hub

Route the right-angle USB connector from the hub to the tablet.

Remove the protective layer from the double-sided tape on the new hub.

Secure the hub to the top portion of the case using the tape.
4. Reconnect accessories

Plug all required USB devices back into the hub (e.g., camera, barcode scanner, flatbed scanner).
5. Test functionality

Open PatronScan on the unit.

Confirm that all connected devices (camera, barcode scanner, flatbed scanner, if applicable) are active and working properly.
6. Reattach the back panel

Place the back panel back onto the unit.

Secure it in place by reinserting the four screws.
