Scanner Replacement Guide
Tools Required - #2 Phillips-head screwdriver, Plastic pry tool (or small flathead screwdriver), Cut-resistant gloves (recommended)
Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Power Off and Prepare the Unit

Unplug the scanner unit from power before starting.

Place the unit on a clean, padded workspace with adequate lighting.
2. Remove the Screws
-
Flip the scanner upside down.
-
Using a Phillips-head screwdriver, remove six (6) screws from the bottom of the unit.

Then, remove two (2) screws from the back side of the scanner (Below the back panel).

Set all screws aside in a safe place for reassembly.
3. Separate the Base from the Housing

Turn the unit upright again.

Starting at the front opening (Below where the tablet Located), gently pry between the top and bottom of the scanners opening.

Apply light, steady pressure to separate the housing.
4. Disconnect the Scanner
-
Once the base is loose, Locate the cable connecting the scanner to the top part of the base and gently unplug them (White Data Cable and Black Power Cable). This allows full removal of the Bottom base.
5. Remove the Internal Scanner

With the Bottom base detached, gently lift the internal scanner assembly from its seated position.

If needed, use a plastic pry tool to assist, applying light upward pressure at the center edge.
6. Install the New Scanner

Remove the backing to the double sided tape on the back of the scanner and place the replacement scanner in the same position as the old one.

Reconnect the scanner cable securely to the board.

Reattach the base of the unit by aligning it carefully and pressing it into place.
7. Reinstall Screws
-
Flip the unit over and reinstall the six (6) screws on the bottom.

Then reinstall the two (2) screws on the back side.
Final Steps
-
Plug the unit back in and power it on to verify the new scanner is functioning properly.
